Police is quizzing a security guard named Raphael Okwanga who was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing Siviwe Katembo, 33, a Congolese national and his yet-to-be identified girlfriend.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesman Luke Owoyesigyire said the duo was killed Thursday morning, around 1am, at their home in Bukasa, Makindye Division in Kampala City.
Okwanga also shot the duo’s caretaker who is currently admitted at IHK Hospital, said Owoyesigyire.
Okwanga, who is attached to security firm D-GAP, was a guard at the victims' home.
Police is still investigating the motive of the murder.
Okwanga is currently detained at Kabalagala Police Station on allegations of murder.
“All the bodies of the deceased persons have been conveyed to the city mortuary at Mulago for a post mortem. Killer weapon and catridgdes have been recovered,” said the police spokesman.
“The crime scene has been secured for further analysis. Some of the exhibits have been submitted for analysis at our Forensic Services laboratory.”
The case file will be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecution for advice, said Owoyesigyire.
