Mr Netanyahu said I'm his letter to his Ugandan counterpart that he looks forward to expanding the cooperation of their two countries.

In the February 1, message extended to Yoweri Museveni, Netanyahu said, “Congratulations on your re-election as President of Uganda.”

He added that, “In recent years, the ties between our two countries have become stronger and I am confident that through the joint efforts of our governments Israeli-Ugandan cooperation will continue to expand.”

Mr Netanyahu joins other leaders including Russia's Vladimir Putin and other world leaders who conveyed their congratulatory messages to President Museveni who was elected for the 6 time into office on January 14 after Electoral Commission (EC) declared him winner with 58%.

Museveni’s closest rival Robert Kyagulanyi garnered 35%. He rejected the results and has since contested Museveni’s victory in the Supreme Court.
