The Office of the Academic Registrar at Makerere University released admission lists for government-sponsored students for the academic year 2024/2025.

The Office also released cut-off points for government admissions to Makerere University and Makerere University Business School (MUBS).

According to the list, 18 students were admitted for Bachelor of Business Administration, 13 for Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering, and 37 for Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.

Bachelor of Agribusiness Management has 13 students, Bachelor of Applied Psychology (seven) and Bachelor of Architecture (18).

Architecture, which is a prestigious course, was dominated by Gayaza High School with three students, Mengo Secondary School had two, and other schools like St. Mary's College Kisubi, Seeta High School, Kampala High School, Kitende S.S., and Namirembe Hillside Secondary School had one each.

Bachelor of Dental Surgery, another prestigious program, had 15 students, and Uganda Martyrs S.S. Namugongo and Seeta High School sent two students, while their competitors like Gayaza High School, Maryhill High School, Kiira College Butiki, and Kibuli Secondary School sent one each.

For the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Makerere University admitted 46 students on government sponsorship.

Most students are from traditional schools like King's College Budo, Uganda Martyrs S.S. Namugongo, Ntare School, Gayaza High School, Nabisunsa Girls' School, and Mengo Secondary School.
