EAPCCO2019 Games: Uganda Police Team Scoops Gold Medals

The Uganda Police Force Relays men's team has won a gold medal in the 4×100 meters race at the ongoing 3rd edition of Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) games in Nairobi, Kenya.

The team is comprised of SPC Godwin Byamukama, Yahaya Maliyamungu, Emmanuel Niwagaba and Jagaro Joshua. On the other hand Patrick Kibwota scooped gold in Javelin men's category. Earlier SPC Byamukama had won a gold medal in the 100 meters men's race, while SPC Maliyamungu scooped a bronze in the same.

On the women's side, SPC Moreen Banura won a silver medal, while SPC Zawadi came fourth in 100 meters women's race. Uganda Police's SPC Byamukama Godwin has won a gold medal in the 100 meters men's race, while SPC Maliyamungu Yahaya scooped a Bronze in the same discipline.

The games kicked off on Tuesday August 27 and are running under the theme, "Sports for Strengthening Regional Cooperation and Integration in the Fight against Transnational and Organized Crime." Police teams from the six EAC nations of Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda and Tanzania are participating.

The games are underway at Kasarani National Stadium Nairobi. The teams are participating in athletics, football, volleyball, shooting, taekwondo, Judo, boxing, Karate and Darts.
