Today (Friday) was a special day for the ghetto people in Kamwokya suburb in Kampala as tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia's family pulled out charitable activities to promote hygiene and sanitation.
Ruparelia family through the Ruparelia Foundation headed by Rajiv Ruparelia spent the entire morning in the slums of Kamwokya giving back to the community.
The group joined the youth in recreational activities as they played omweso, ludo and other games before they did a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of toilets in the suburb.
According to Rajiv, the funds for the construction of the toilets came from proceeds from the recent Ascot Goat Race that intends to support charity. among those who attended include Rajiv and his wife, Sudhir's daughter Sheena and her husband.
The toilets and related facilities are built at the Good Samaritan Primary School in Kamwokya and are expected to improve the sanitation in the area.
This year's Royal Ascot Goat took place on October 12, 2019, at Speke Resort in Munyonyo, attracting some of the biggest names in the country including Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah, diplomats, politicians, businessmen and socialites like Judith Heard.
The Ruparelia Foundation works to improve and promote health, education, sports, general welfare, poverty eradication, improve livelihoods, support the welfare of wildlife and preservation of the environment by fostering partnerships among businesses, corporations, with the government, non-governmental organisations and individuals.
