President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has presided over the swearing-in of senior judicial and anti-corruption officials, including Lady Justice Aisha Naluzze Batala, who formally assumed office as the new Inspector General of Government (IGG).
The ceremony, held in Mbale City also saw Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo sworn in as Principal Judge, and Lino Anguzu take oath as the new Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Justice Naluzze succeeds Beti Kamya Turwomwe, while and Dr. Patricia Achan Okiria and Anne Twino were reappointed as Deputy Inspectors General of Government.
In his remarks, President Museveni congratulated the appointees, describing them as capable and disciplined leaders committed to serving the country with integrity.
“I am glad they are all young people whose record I have followed closely, and they do not seem to be corrupt,” the President said.
He commended their appointments as part of his government’s effort to strengthen Uganda’s justice system and anti-corruption institutions, emphasizing that integrity and efficiency are essential for national progress.
The President exercised his constitutional mandate in making the appointments, underscoring his administration’s commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency in public service.
The event was attended by senior government officials, members of the judiciary, and representatives from oversight institutions.
