President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has hosted delegations from the United Kingdom and India to explore a tripartite trade framework linking Asia, Europe and Africa through Uganda.
In a message shared on his official X account, the President said the discussions focused on positioning Uganda as a strategic bridge between the three continents.
“I hosted visitors from the United Kingdom and India who are exploring a tripartite arrangement linking Asia, Europe and Africa through Uganda,” he stated.
President Museveni emphasized that economic growth depends on connecting production to markets.
“The correct line is that prosperity comes from linking producers to consumers. Africa, because of its strategic position and growth potential, is the place of the future,” he said.
He noted that Uganda is strengthening the fundamentals required to attract global investment.
“On our part, we are putting in place the fundamentals of security, market, labour and raw materials,” he added.
The President said sound planning and strategic partnerships could unlock broader global prosperity anchored on Africa.
“If this is understood by serious planners, global affluence is achievable with Africa as a big business centre. I am very encouraged by this prospect,” he said.
The engagement signals Uganda’s continued push to leverage its geographic position and resource base to attract international trade and investment partnerships.
