Gen Kainerugaba Issues ‘Patriotic Officer’ Numbers to PLU Central Committee Members

The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has formally established a numerical ranking system for its leadership, with Chairman Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba issuing official "Patriotic Officer" (PO) numbers to members of the organization’s Central Committee.

According to a statement from the chairman’s office, the newly assigned numbers reflect both the historic role each member played in the founding of the organization and their seniority within the movement.

Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chairman and first-ranked member, was assigned PO 001. He is followed by a diverse list of political figures, businessmen, and leaders who form the top governing body of the organization including the newly appointed Central Committee member Henry Basaliza. 

The full list of Central Committee members assigned PO numbers is as follows:

· PO 002 Andrew Mwenda
· PO 003 Michael Nuwagira (Toyota)
· PO 004 Edwin Karugire
· PO 005 Daudi Kabanda
· PO 006 Balaam Barugahara
· PO 007 Michael Mawanda
· PO 008 Lillian Aber
· PO 009 Cedric Babu (now deceased)
· PO 010 Frank Gashumba
· PO 011 Henry Basaliza
· PO 012 Fadil Twala

The statement noted that Cedric Babu has been posthumously recognized as PO 009.

The organization indicated that additional PO numbers will be issued "in due course" for non-Central Committee members as the party continues to formalize its structure.
