Special Forces Command Commander Maj. Gen. David Mugisha has flagged off the SFC Alpha and Bravo drill teams ahead of the 2nd Inter-Forces Chief of Defence Forces Drill Competition.
Maj. Gen. Mugisha officiated the flag-off ceremony on Tuesday at the SFC headquarters before the teams departed for joint rehearsals in Bombo. The final competition will take place at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in Kampala.
Addressing the troops, the SFC commander urged the participants to maintain total concentration and discipline to secure victory.
“Do not relax,” Maj. Gen. Mugisha said. “Competition is not just about participating; it demands total concentration, discipline and determination.”
He cautioned the soldiers against misconduct, including alcohol abuse, noting that mental and physical alertness remain critical in military drills.
Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba established the annual competition to sharpen parade skills, teamwork, and physical fitness across all security services.
During the inaugural edition last year, the Internal Security Organisation won the overall title, while the SFC captured two trophies and took top honors in the mastery presentation.
This year’s edition features several specialized drill disciplines, including the Sword, Cane Stick, Crop Stick, Foot, Pace Stick, and Mastery Showmanship drills.
Senior military officers attended the flag-off event, including SFC Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. Paul Namawa and Deputy Commander 1 Special Forces Group Col. Dismas Kamuza.
