PLU to Open Branch Offices Countrywide as Gen MK Endorsement Drive Goes Digital

The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has moved its nationwide presidential endorsement campaign exclusively online and will open permanent regional and district offices across the country beginning December 1, 2026, the organization announced.

The directive was issued on Saturday, October 31, 2026, by PLU Chairman and Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, through an official notice released by PLU General Secretary and Tingey County MP Hon. Twalla Fadil.

Under the new guidelines, all citizen endorsements backing Gen. Muhoozi as Uganda’s next president will be conducted exclusively through the league’s official web portal. The PLU has immediately stopped issuing physical endorsement books and directed all field coordinators, patriotic officers and sub-county mobilization teams to retrieve active and completed registers and return them to the national secretariat by November 30, 2026, for compilation and verification.

According to the notice, Gen. Kainerugaba confirmed that the organization will begin opening permanent regional and district offices nationwide on December 1. The branches will serve as operational hubs to guide citizens through online endorsements, process digital registrations and issue official Patriotic Cadre (PC) identification numbers.

The PLU said it will also continue hosting community barazas, with grassroots efforts focusing on anti-corruption campaigns, free medical outreach camps and community legal advisory services.

Hon. Twalla directed all regional directors, district coordinators and members to comply strictly with the updated guidelines to ensure disciplined and coordinated teamwork at the grassroots level.
