Former MP Gordon Arinda Dies of Covid-19

Former Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality  legislator Arinda Gordon Cowboy has succumbed to Covid-19. 

Arinda has been battling Covid-19 at Mbarara Referral Hospital where he eventually died from this afternoon. 

The fallen politician was MP in the 10th Parliament before losing to Derrick Kabuura in the 2021 elections. 

Deputy Speaker has eulogised Arinda for his massive contribution in the 10th Parliament. 

"My sympathies to the family and friends of Hon.Arinda Gordon Cowboy, may his Soul find eternal rest.We shall remember you for your dedication in serving your people and Country in the 10th Parliament," Among tweeted. 

Government Chief Whip Thomas Tayebwa recalled how he had just visited Arinda in hospital before his death. 

" Rest In Peace my brother Gordon. When I went to see U at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital on Wednesday I didn’t know COVID w’d take u. We prayed & thanked God for having defeated the devil not knowing it was meant to take u today evening. So so sad!" he tweeted. 

As at 7 January 2022, Uganda had confirmed 984 new cases,bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 153,762.
