GNL Zamba, Navio Join the Grammy Recording Academy with Special Privileges
Ugandan Hip Hop stars Navio and GNL Zamba were inducted into the prestigious Recording Academy as voting members.
"#GRAMMYs... Exciting news family !!!" GNL Zamba took to Instagram to announce the induction. "#IAmTheAcademy and have joined countless creators and professionals who serve, celebrate, and advocate in the name of music year-round. It’s an honor be part of this year’s new @recordingacademy member class."
The Recording Academy is a music organization of musicians, producers, recording engineers and other recording professionals dedicated to improving the quality of life and cultural condition for music and its makers.
Being recruited into the Recording Academy as voting members permits GNL Zamba and Navio to actively participate in the prestigious Grammy Awards process.
As Voting Members, the rappers also qualify for the privilege of reviewing submissions, casting votes, and influencing the selection of nominees and winners across various award categories. Their inclusion is a testament of their expertise and artistic contributions within the global music industry. By welcoming Navio and GNL Zamaba as voting members, the Recording Academy acknowledges the Hip Hop stars' immense contributions to the global music landscape.
It is important to note that the Recording Academy added more categories ahead of the upcoming 66th Annual Grammy Awards, namely: Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording.
