Kenya Aircraft makes U-turn over Bad Weather
A Kenya Airways aircraft this Sunday morning made a turnback after unsuccessful attempts to land due to bad weather.
The aircraft KQ 478 that was on a scheduled operation from Nairobi to Kigali at about 7.35 am, encountered low visibility and deteriorating weather on the normal approach to land at Kigali International Airport, the statement from Kenya Airways reads.
"... After two unsuccessful attempts to land the crew elected to return to Nairobi for the safety of passengers and crew onboard. The aircraft landed safely in Nairobi at 09.50 hrs," the statement reads.
"We sincerely apologize to our guests for the inconvenience and assure customers that their safety and that of our crew is our highest priority."
This year, heavy rains and deteriorating weather have led to the cancelation of several flights across East Africa.
