Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, the transitional president of Gabon, will visit Uganda from 1st to 3rd August. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that he will be hosted by President Yoweri Museveni.

Oligui was appointed interim president of Gabon by the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions following the 2023 Gabonese coup d'état, which ousted President Ali Bongo.

In addition to his role as interim president, Brig. Gen. Oligui serves as the chairman of the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions and the Commander-in-Chief of the Gabonese Republican Guard.
