Afrigo Band’s Moses Matovu Dies After Attack in Kibuli

Afrigo Band musician Moses Matovu has died from injuries sustained in an attack by unidentified assailants in Kibuli, Kampala, police have said.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachael Kawala said the attack occurred on the morning of September 24, 2026, at Kibuli Market Zone B in Makindye Division.

Matovu was rushed to Kibuli Hospital, where he later died. Police at Kabalagala have opened a suspected murder case.

“Our task team is currently at the scene conducting investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident,” Kawala said in a statement.

She said police were working to identify and arrest the attackers.

Kawala said police would release further details as investigations progress.
