Makerere University has confirmed that its 76th Graduation Ceremony will be held from Tuesday, February 24 to Friday, February 27, 2026, providing clarity to graduands and the general public ahead of the academic milestone.
In a statement issued on January 20, 2026, the university said the four-day ceremony will proceed as scheduled, with detailed graduation programmes and standard operating procedures to be communicated officially in due course.
The university also announced adjustments to its academic calendar following a directive from the Ministry of Education and Sports. As part of the changes, the opening of Semester Two for the 2025/2026 academic year has been moved to February 10, 2026.
Makerere said Semester Two will now run from February 10 to June 6, 2026, aligning the institution’s activities with national education guidelines issued to all schools and higher learning institutions.
The confirmation of the graduation dates allows finalists to plan accordingly as the university prepares to confer degrees during one of its most significant annual academic events.
