Museveni Welcomes Egypt’s President el-Sisi for Bilateral Talks

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has welcomed the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, to Uganda for a high-level diplomatic visit.

The Egyptian leader arrived at State House Entebbe on Wednesday to engage in talks focused on deepening the partnership between the two nations. This visit underscores the strategic importance of the Nile Basin cooperation and regional security within the African continent. President Museveni received his guest with full state honors before retreating for a private session to discuss trade and mutual development goals.

President Museveni expressed optimism that the engagement will yield positive results for both populations.

“I look forward to our fruitful discussions aimed at strengthening the long-standing cooperation between our two countries and advancing the interests of Africa as a continent,” President Museveni stated.

Uganda and Egypt have previously collaborated on various projects in agriculture, energy, and water management. 

President el-Sisi’s visit marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to unify African states through direct bilateral diplomacy.
