Police in Mukono District have intensified investigations into the suspected murder of Ms Tumwebaze Pamela, 46, the Director of Student Affairs at Uganda Christian University (UCU).

Ms Tumwebaze, a resident of Gwafu West Village, Seeta Ward in Goma Division, was killed in the early hours of Wednesday (11th February, 2026) at her home.

According to preliminary police findings, at about 2:00 a.m., the family houseboy saw an unknown man inside the deceased’s bedroom. The suspect was reportedly wearing the victim’s jeans and stockings.

Police say the man fled shortly after, carrying a laptop bag belonging to Ms Tumwebaze.

The houseboy and the children checked on their mother and found her unresponsive in her bed. She was rushed to Namirembe Church of Uganda Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police task teams have since been deployed, and operations are underway to identify, trace, and arrest the suspect.

The Uganda Police Force has assured the public of its commitment to ensure that the perpetrator is apprehended and brought to justice.

SP Kawala Racheal, the PRO for Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
