Prince Harry Meets Ugandan Ministers After Invictus Games Admission

Prince Harry has welcomed Uganda into the Invictus Games community and pledged to work with the country as it prepares for future participation in the Games.

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has congratulated Uganda on joining the Invictus Games community of nations.

The Duke met Defence and Veteran Affairs Minister Kiryowa Kiwanuka and State Minister for Sports Peter Ogwang at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London on July 9, 2026.

Uganda’s Acting Director Defence Public Information, Col Chris Magezi, said Prince Harry welcomed Uganda into the community and expressed interest in working with the country.

“The Duke of Sussex once again congratulated Uganda for joining the Invictus Games community of nations and said he looks forward to exchanging experiences with Uganda in championing the cause of wounded, injured and sick soldiers, in addition to competing in future games,” Col Magezi said.

Kiwanuka and Ogwang attended the meeting with a Ugandan delegation.

Earlier in the day, Kiwanuka attended the unveiling of the Spirit of Invictus Train.

The specially branded train will carry the name and spirit of the Invictus community across the United Kingdom rail network.

The train has entered regular service and will travel across the country ahead of the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.
