The year 2020 has been like no other with COVID-19 changing our lives from how we move, work, make money, travel and shop.

Over the past few months, we have seen a shift in how we celebrate the holidays we know and love and Christmas seems to be no exception with many saying Christmas is canceled.

However, leading eCommerce platform Jumia Uganda is changing that narrative with the launch of yet another money-saving campaign just in time for Christmas dubbed Jumia Festive Sale.

The Jumia Festive Sale, which kicked off on December 7 will run-up to December 20 on the online shopping platform and will feature discounts and offers on much-needed Christmas essentials such as supermarket items, home appliances and even Christmas trees.

“The Festive season is a time for giving and what better way to give back to our consumers than with savings during these unprecedented times. This year many people are worried that Christmas will be canceled because of COVID-19, but at Jumia we are urging our consumers to embrace a new way of Christmas shopping,” Jumia Uganda CEO Ron Kawamara said.

"This year, our festive sale will focus on not only offering discounts on much needed essential items such as basic supermarket essentials but will also be offering safety and convenience to consumers.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the immense benefits of online shopping, from safety to affordable price points for the consumers, and a continued revenue channel for the vendors and this year’s festive season will be no different.

With the Jumia Festive Sale, both consumers and vendors will be able to leverage the benefits of e-commerce and online shopping to enjoy the Christmas period.
