Jumia Food Uganda has announced the return of its online food festival known as Jumia Food Fest.

The festival will run from 10th to 23rd May.

The online campaign, which was launched last year, returns with even more discounts and offers for consumers.

Consumers that visit the Jumia Food app will be able to enjoy discounts of up to 50% off plus free delivery from a wide range of restaurants such as Food Hub, Java House, KFC, Ugaroll, Nakasero market, Jumia Party, Carrefour, and many more.

“Last year’s Jumia Food Festival was very well received by both our consumers and our vendors so there was no question about bringing it back this year. The festival is a chance for vendors to showcase their wide array of products and for consumers to enjoy affordable pricing and safe delivery to their doorstep," Jumia Uganda CEO Ron Kawamara said.

Online food delivery platforms are growing more popular as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vendors are now partnering with platforms like Jumia to increase their consumer reach that has been affected by the pandemic and subsequent lockdown.

For consumers, with the increased risk that comes with crowded places, online delivery platforms have become the safer option to still enjoy delicious meals.

"Working and partnering with Jumia Food has provided us a great opportunity to overcome the disruption caused by the pandemic while still being able to cater for our consumers by offering them a safe delivery experience. We look forward to being part of this campaign to ensure consumers enjoy even greater convenience & pricing,” said Chris Nyesigire, the owner of Ugaroll.

Some of the offers available during the festival include rolexes from Ugaroll at Shs2,500, local food from Super Lunch at Shs3,000, KFC Streetwise 2 at 10,000 as well as 50% off on meals from Java House, Kuku Box and many more.
