Police in Ntungamo district have arrested a primary school teacher for allegedly sodomizing his pupil.
The suspect is 23-year old Sudais Igga, also known as Kagame, a resident of Kyamuhunga, Bwongera Subcounty. Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga says that the suspect has been sexually abusing the 15-year old boy since February last year.
“It was established the suspect started sexually abusing the victim since February 2018 to May 2019 and had threatened to kill him if he reported the matter,” Enanga said.
“The matter was however reported to the police by the stepmother to the victim, Mackline Nimwesiga, we commend her greatly as we encourage more parents, guardians, and victims to always report such crimes to the police,” he emphasized.
The victim was subjected to medical examination, whose results confirmed penetration and rapture of the anus, Enanga explained, stressing the need “to educate and raise awareness amongst pupils and students on sexual crimes including acts of “grooming”.”
