Police in Hoima district are hunting for unknown thugs that broke into the Bunyoro Kitara Diocese owned Azur Christian Health Centre IV, killed a night watchman and robbed unspecified amount of money.
The incident occurred on Sunday night in Duhaga, Hoima Municipality. Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson says the thugs cut the chain link to break inside, tied Alex Toko (41), the night watchman with ropes and hacked him to death. They later broke into the cashier’s office and fled away with unspecified amount of money.
Hakiza says no arrests have been made yet but investigations are underway. Esau Muhumuza, the director of the Health Centre suspects the robbers could have raided the facility in the wee hours on Sunday. The night watchman's body was found dumped near the gate on Monday morning.
