A fight over a woman in Kagadi district has left one dead and the other severely injured.
The deceased has been identified as 40 year old Sunday Kizito, a resident of Kabukanga in Ndaiga Parish while the injured is Mustapha Ruja, a resident of the same area.
Albertine region police spokesperson, Julius Allan Hakiza says it all started on Saturday at around 8am when Kizito (now deceased) invaded Ruja’s home and hacked him severely for allegedly sleeping with his woman.
In self-defense, Ruja speared his attacker and killed him on the spot. Hakiza says Ruja is now detained at Ndaiga Police Post for murder, while on treatment for the severe panga cuts.
Hakiza cautions residents against lawlessness, saying similar cases are on the rise in the region. He urges people to always seek legal redress.
