Unidentified man believed to be thief was on Tuesday night shot dead at the residence of the Mukono Resident District Commissioner, Fred Bamwine, at Kauga village in Mukono Municipality.
The Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, says the suspect was shot by the RDC’s guards while trying to jump over the wall fence and he died on the spot.
“The suspect was sighted by the security officers at RDC Bamwine’s residence and they first warned him but he insisted on climbing the fence,” Owoyesigyire explained adding, “When he jumped in, he was shot and died instantly."
Owoyesigyire says the police checked the body but had no identification documents. It was later taken to city mortuary in Mulago as investigations continue. RDC Bamwine is yet to comment on the matter.
