A contingent of forty police officers selected from the Greater Masaka Policing Region, concluded a comprehensive one-week Induction course in community policing at CID Headquarters Kibuli.

The closing ceremony was presided over by the Acting Chief Political Commissar, SCP Namutebi Hadijah, who noted the importance of applying the acquired knowledge and skills to enhance police service delivery.

During her address, Namutebi urged the officers to serve as exemplary police ambassadors and cautioned against engaging in corrupt practices as community liaison officers.

She reminded them about the significance of accountability to the public, noting the values of customer care and maintaining high morale.

The training was meant to equip participants with the skills necessary to appreciate policing through a community-oriented approach, fostering improved work relations with the community.

The Uganda Police Force (UPF) is currently implementing the sub-county policing model to bring police services closer to the community.

This initiative aims to promote secure communities by empowering them and bridging the gap between law enforcement and the public.
