Boarding Schools in These Four Districts Will Reopen in a Staggered Manner

The Ministry of Education and Sports has announced that schools in Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono, and Mpigi will open in a staggered manner to avoid traffic congestion that might occur if all students are allowed to go back to school at once on January 10.

According to the ministry, all day schools will resume on Jan 10, while boarding schools will re-open in a staggered manner.

"No boarding students in the concerned districts shall report for school earlier than Monday the 10th of January 2022," the ministry's permanent secretary said in a Monday statement.

"Students in International Schools whether offering Day or Boarding School shall also comply with re-opening that is NOT any earlier than Monday the 10th of January 2022."
