Kiwale Church of Uganda (COU) Primary School in Buikwe District has received a major boost with a newly roofed four-classroom block, thanks to the Safal Uganda Baati Foundation and the Rotary Club of Bweyogerere Namboole. The school, which previously struggled with makeshift classrooms, now offers a safer and more conducive learning environment for the 3,000 children in Kiwale Village.

Established in 2016, Kiwale COU Primary School was founded by the community and the church to provide education for children who had no access to schools within a 4-5 kilometre radius. Under the ‘Adopt a School’ model, the Rotary Club of Bweyogerere Namboole partnered with the Church of Uganda, Seeta Archdeaconry, and Mukono Diocese in 2018 to support the school. In 2022, the Rotary Club sought assistance from the Safal Uganda Baati Foundation to complete the construction of a four-classroom block and a two-stance pit latrine.

During the classroom block commissioning, Safal Uganda Baati Foundation Manager, George Mubiru, emphasised the importance of proper learning facilities. “Education is a fundamental right for every child. It is important that they have facilities that support proper learning. Previously sitting outside, these children can now learn under a proper roof, safe from harsh weather conditions,” Mubiru said.

He reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to making a difference in communities, ensuring children receive quality education in a secure environment. “We are grateful for partnerships that enable us to reach communities and drive meaningful impact,” he added.

Michael Nuwagaba, President of the Rotary Club of Bweyogerere Namboole, and the school administration expressed gratitude to Uganda Baati. “The facility will now accommodate hundreds of pupils, providing a safe and conducive environment for education. We are grateful to Safal Uganda Baati Foundation for their generous support in making this a reality.”

This project highlights Safal Uganda Baati Foundation’s dedication to sustainable community development. Through such initiatives, the foundation continues to improve communities and contribute to national development.
