National men's football team - Uganda Cranes have qualified for the CHAN (Championship of African Nations ) 2020 after Saturday’s 3-0 win against Burundi. This was during a match played at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo in Kampala.
Uganda edged Burundi 6-0 on aggregate following another 0-3 win in Bujumbura few weeks ago in one of their qualifier matches. In Kampala, Fahad Bayo, Viane Ssekajugo and Allan Okello were on target to seal Uganda’s fifth CHAN qualification.
The national team has qualified for the same tournament in 2011, 2013, 2016 and 2018. The Saturday victory was the first competitive triumph for new Uganda Cranes Coach Johnny Mckinstry. The CHAN 2020 tournament will be held in Cameroon, marking the sixth staging of the event.
