RDF Chief Hosts UPDF Generals to Dinner

The Chief of Defence Staff of the Rwanda Defence Force, General Mubarakh Muganga, hosted a dinner for a delegation of Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF) generals at the Kigali Convention Centre last evening.

The UPDF delegation, led by Major General James Birungi, was treated to an evening of Rwandan cultural dances, with some generals even joining in the festivities alongside traditional dancers.

Other UPDF Generals in attendance included Major General Moses Rwakitarate and Brigadier General Richard Karemire.

General Birungi represented the UPDF's Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who had gone to meet with President Paul Kagame.

In his remarks, General Muganga expressed gratitude to the UPDF delegation for visiting the RDF headquarters, highlighting the significance of General Muhoozi's visit and the discussions aimed at strengthening military cooperation between the two nations.

General Birungi reciprocated the sentiment, thanking the RDF and the people of Rwanda for their warm hospitality, noting that the welcome extended beyond the military to the entire Rwandan population.

General Muhoozi had arrived in Kigali on Saturday to attend President Paul Kagame's inauguration ceremony, followed by a visit to the RDF headquarters, where he held discussions with top military leaders, including his counterpart, General Muganga.
