President Yoweri Museveni has said the incoming president of Kenya won't affect Uganda's relationship with its eastern neighbor.
"... Uganda’s cordial relationship with Kenya remains our priority irrespective of who the Kenyans vote for President in their upcoming elections. We shall work with whoever is elected by the people," Museveni tweeted after meeting I met the outgoing Kenyan High Commissioner to Uganda Kiema Kilonzo at State House Entebbe.
Kilonzo, whose tour of duty in Uganda has ended, came in 2018.
"I wish him well in his future engagements," Museveni tweeted.
The Kenya High Commission in Kampala was established in 1981 as a military liaison office to strengthen the historic relations between Kenya and Uganda with the first High Commissioner, reporting on 2nd March 1981.
Since then, the two countries have grown to be each other’s key trading partners and play a key role in regional integration matters.
