Coca-Cola has relaunched its iconic "Share a Coke" campaign, offering a fresh brand experience that encourages people to connect with friends and create lasting memories. The campaign, originally launched in 2011, allowed customers to find their name on a bottle instead of the logo – a first in personalised branding. Now, Coca-Cola aims to bring people together by sharing a Coke to celebrate friendship.

Research shows that 72% of Gen Z seek authenticity and prefer real connections in everything they do. In a world where online interactions can feel fleeting, sharing a Coke provides a tangible way to show you care. The campaign’s customisation platform allows customers to choose from an even wider range of names and add personal touches. If a name is not available in-store, customers can scan the QR code on the bottle, which will direct them to the "Share a Coke" digital hub to create a unique, personalised Coca-Cola digital bottle to share with loved ones.

Coca-Cola is also introducing the “Share a Coke” Memory Maker, an online digital experience that allows people to create memes and videos with friends and family while enjoying a refreshing Coke. The experience, available on the digital hub, features templates created by popular content creators.

In Uganda, the campaign was launched at Makerere University Business School (MUBS), where attendees took part in a Cultural Gala showcasing East African culture, fashion, food, and music. The event featured performances, storytelling, dance, and exhibitions, along with live music from local artists and DJs.

Vivienne Olenyo, Manager of Frontline Marketing at Coca-Cola Uganda, said, “In our increasingly digital lives, it's more important than ever to recognise and cherish the special bonds of friendship. 'Share a Coke' reminds us that some of life’s most memorable moments are created when we come together – sharing laughter, stories, and authentic connections. It’s those spontaneous, real interactions, often sparked over a Coca-Cola bottle, that bring true magic to everyday life.”

Personalised Coca-Cola bottles will be available from mid-April 2025. For more information, consumers can visit the "Share a Coke" digital hub or follow Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda on social media platforms including X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
