Museveni Orders Army out of Makerere University

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has ordered 10,017 newly passed-out police constables and immigration officers to reject corruption and ignore senior bosses who try to lure them into graft. Speaking at PTS Kabalye, the President emphasized that health and integrity are vital weapons for state service, while IGP Abas Byakagaba detailed plans to deploy the recruits to bridge a steep national police deficit.

The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has officially commissioned the newly constructed Ruhengyere Army Primary School in Kiruhura District. Funded under the guidance of CDF Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and managed by the Special Forces Command, the modern campus transforms a school that started under tree shades into a robust educational facility serving both military families and local civilian communities.

Community leaders from Napak and Nabilatuk districts have demanded harsher penalties and increased troop deployments to combat a resurgence of cattle theft. Speaking at a joint security meeting chaired by 3 Infantry Division Commander Maj Gen Wilberforce Sserunkuma, residents protested the frequent release of suspects and called for grassroots disarmament operations.
