Dorothy Kisaka has revealed that her nomination as Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director, came as a “surprise.”

Before her nomination last week, Kisaka was working as Governance Advisory at the Office of the Prime Minister and doubled as Fund Administrator for the National Response Fund to COVID-19. Nevertheless, Kisaka has thanked President Yoweri Museveni for spotting her for the appointment.

“Friends, I was pleasantly surprised by the nomination by HE the president @KagutaMuseveni to the office of ED @KCCA and I thank you for the many good wishes. While we await due process, I want to thank you for the generous donations to the government @Covid19FUNDUg,” Kisaka tweeted.

Last week, President Museveni dropped KCCA acting Executive Director Andrew Kitaka and replaced him with Kisaka. Others who were dropped include; Harriet Mudondo, director Gender, Community Services who has been replaced by Sarah Kanyike. Daniel Okello who has been acting director Public Health and Environment has been confirmed as a substantive director. Sam Sserunkuma who has been acting Deputy Executive director will be replaced by Eng David Luyimbazi Saali, former KCCA Head of Planning. Richard Lule, Director Administration and Human Resource has also been dropped and replaced by Grace Akullo. Grace Akullo is Assistant commissioner Human Resource Management at Ministry of Public Service.

The nominees will be vetted by the Public Service Commission (PSC) to confirm their appointment.
