Ministers Headed for Defeat in NRM Party Primaries

Preliminary results from across the country in the NRM party primary elections indicate that ministers are headed for defeat to newcomers such as Dr Charles Ayume who is widely believed to carry the flag after the final announcement of the results. Dr Ayume is tussling it out with Investment Minister Evelyn Anite.

Other ministers that are trailing based on the preliminary results include Elioda Tumwesigye who is trailing Mr Dicksons Kateshumbwa in the Sheema poll and Economic Monitoring minister Molly Kamukama who is also trailing in the Kazo election.

Similarly, Mary Karooro Okurut who is the minister for General Duties is also facing it tough against newcomer Annet Mugisha in Bushenyi.

The early results 

In Koboko, Dr. Charles Ayume was ahead of Investments Minister Evelyn Anite with Ayume leading with 8,089 while Anite had 7,321.

The final results will be announced by the NRM electoral commission.
