The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations and SFC Commander Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba welcomed the new US Defence Attaché to Uganda, LTC. Scott Polasek.
LTC. Polasek made a courtesy visit to Gen Kainerugaba at the SFC Headquarters in Entebbe Wednesday morning.
The two military officers discussed further strengthening the strong Uganda-US military to military co-operation. The two officers also reviewed the strong historical links between the two militaries and pledged to work to strengthen them further.'
Uganda-US relations
Uganda and the United States established diplomatic relations in 1962 following Uganda’s formal independence from the United Kingdom.
Uganda and the United States have been reliable partners in promoting stability in the Horn and East/Central Africa and in combatting terror, particularly through Uganda's contribution to the African Union Mission in Somalia among others.
