The 2021 presidential candidate for the National Unity Platform  Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has withdrawn the petition challenging President Yoweri Museveni’s victory.

Bobi Wine made the declaration during a press conference at his party offices in Kamwokya on Monday.

“We have decided to remove our case from Owiny Dollo’s court, we shall now take the matter to the court of public opinion,” Bobi Wine said without giving further details.

Bobi Wine explained that his team had realized they stood no chance.

Mr Kyagulanyi's team had initially applied to amend their petition but court turned down their request as they had run out of time that is permitted under the Constitution.
