The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations and Commander Land Forces Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has described the conflict between Uganda and Rwanda as the biggest waste of time ever.

Through his Twitter handle Gen Kainerugaba expressed gratitude that the the conflict is coming to an end.

"This conflict between our brotherly countries has been the biggest waste of time ever. I thank God our two great leaders were able to see beyond all the unnecessary conflict and solve the problem. The people of Uganda and Rwanda are one!" Gen Kainerugaba said in the tweet.

Gen Kainerugaba added that spoilers of the relationship with Rwanda won't be tolerated anymore.

"We shall no longer tolerate 'Spoilers'! Those who fight our historical relationship with Rwanda. If you claim to love Uganda why fight her interests? Why fight the interests of her people? This sabotage of our country will end!" Gen Kainerugaba said in another tweet.

Rwanda has opened the border with Uganda at Katuna which it closed in February 2019.

In the announcement issued by the Rwandan foreign affairs ministry, the opening of the border followed a visit by Gen Kainerugaba to Kigali where he held talks with the Rwandan leader.

According to Rwanda, the Kigali government is confident that concerns raised are being practically addressed by Kampala.
