The Kitgum District Woman Member of Parliament Hon Lilian Aber on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Commander Land Forces Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

The two leaders discussed, among other issues, the security situation in Kitgum District.

"Yesterday, I was very happy to meet my sister, Honourable @LillianAber, woman MP for Kitgum district. We discussed security issues to do with her district. Always good to catch up with friends," Gen Kainerugaba said in a tweet Thursday afternoon.

Kitgum District is located in Northern Uganda and in the recent past, cases of violent crime involving robberies have been reported. Several criminal gang members have been arrested.

Kitgum District, has a total land area of of 4,042 square kilometers, lies in the Acholi sub-region in Northern Uganda. The District is bordered by the Republic of Southern Sudan to the north, Karenga District to the east, Kotido District to the South East, Agago District to the South, Pader District to the Southwest and Lamwo District to the Northwest.

After his meeting with the Kitgum District Woman MP yesterday, Gen Kainerugaba who is also the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations hosted a large Israeli delegation led by the Minister of Defense. Both meetings happened at the Land Forces Headquarters in Bombo.
