All is set for the pipping ceremony for Gen Muhoozi Kainrrugaba who was last week promoted from the rank of Liuetenant General to full General.

The pipping ceremony will take place at the Land Forces Heaquarters in Bombo on Monday.

Gen Kainerugaba who retains his position as Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations will also hand over the office of Commander Land Forces to newly promoted Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga.

The Kampala Post has learnt that the ceremony will be presided over by bush war veteran Gen Salim Saleh who is also the Chief Cordinator of Operation Wealth Creation.

As he takes on his new rank, there can probably be no better suited person to preside over the function than a man he draws inspiration from.

“Will always be proud of my beloved uncle, General Salim Saleh, a lion amongst men. The man who taught me soldiering and sacrifice for the nation,” Gen Kainerugaba says in one of his tweets about Gen Saleh.

The ceremony will also be attended by senior UPDF officers.

Gen Kainerugaba was promoted to General but relieved of his duties as CLF following a series of tweets that reportedly annoyed Kenyans.

Following the announcemed that he would vacate his position as CLF, Kainerugaba who is a four star General said a prayer for his soldiers.

“As I leave my beloved soldiers, let me say a prayer for them. 'May the Lord bless you and keep you, May the Lord make His face to shine upon you, May the Lord be gracious to you; May the Lord lift up His countenance to you...and give you peace.” Gen Kainerugaba tweeted.

Several of Gen Kainerugaba’s supporters have been calling for Ugandans to turn up in large numbers to escort the General for his pipping ceremony.

During his one year reign as the CLF, Gen Kainerugaba championed a number of infrastructural projects including renovation of senior officers’s residences, building of new accomodation structures including a perimeter wall around the barracks.
