The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has removed Kira Municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda from his earlier held position as the party whip.
In a letter signed by the FDC Secretary General Nandala Mafabi, Ssemujju has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.
The party has now written to the Speaker of Parliament noting that Yusuf Nsibambi will replace Ssemujju.
In Parliament a party whip is a member of a political party whose task is to ensure that members of the party attend the chamber and support their party when a vote is taken.

The letter to the Speaker is copied to the party president among other stakeholders.
The FDC has for the last few weeks been embroiled in accusations and counter accusations of treachery among senior party leaders including founding president Kizza Besigye, Patrick Amuriat, Nandala Mafabi, Ssemujju Nganda among others.
