The Minister of Local Government, Hon. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, has completed the reconstruction of the grave of late music legend Prince Paul Kafeero, shifting the state's focus toward transforming the site into a sustainable family heritage tourism hub.
The structural restoration of the gravesite in Busansula village marks the final phase of a high-profile state-backed forensic operation. Medical experts recently opened the tomb under a strict court order to retrieve biological bone matrices from the fallen Kadongo Kamu icon.

The forensic intervention aims to conduct conclusive DNA parentage tests for more than 20 young individuals claiming to be the musician's biological heirs. The costly exhumation and laboratory fees were fully facilitated by the minister to definitively put an end to a bitter, 20-year family inheritance dispute that has fractured the late singer's estate.
With the reconstruction of the grave successfully fulfilled, Barugahara revealed that the upcoming phase will center on the complete renovation and modernization of Kafeero's resting house and surrounding compound. The minister explained that upgrading the burial grounds into a localized cultural monument will generate long-term revenues for the bereaved family through specialized heritage tourism. Barugahara commended the local government administrators, the Uganda Police Force forensic department, and the cooperative family heads for executing the sensitive scientific retrieval with maximum transparency.
“Finally, my pledge to fully reconstruct the grave of my late friend, the Golden Boy of Africa, Prince Paul Kafeero, has been fulfilled,” Hon. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi stated. “What remains now is the renovation and improvement of his resting house and surrounding compound so that it can generate income for the family through tourism and heritage preservation.”
The Government Analytical Laboratory and the Uganda Police Forensic Laboratory are currently accelerating the scientific analysis of the retrieved genetic material to deliver definitive parentage verdicts. Legal representatives noted that establishing indisputable biological links remains the only viable path to settling multi-acre land disputes and stabilizing the singer's legacy. Barugahara closed his executive brief by urging the public to respect the family's privacy, pairing his administrative remarks with a scriptural reflection from the Book of Proverbs.
“A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold,” Barugahara noted, while invoking the biblical text to emphasize the importance of familial dignity. “We remain hopeful that the DNA results will establish the truth, bring clarity to all concerned parties, and finally put this 20 years long-standing matter to rest.”
