The leadership of Kyegegwa District has pledged land for the construction of permanent Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) district offices to secure the organisation's presence in the Tooro Sub-region.

The announcement was made during a meeting held by PLU General Secretary, Rt. Hon. Fadil Twalla, who met with Kyegegwa leaders and mobilisers as part of a district-by-district programme to strengthen local structures.

The initiative, led by Hon. Basaliza Henry Mutegeki, a Member of the PLU Central Committee and Coordinator for the Tooro Sub-region, included a presentation by the Kyegegwa delegation, led by District Coordinators Mayor Swaibu Musa Rutange and Kyalimpa Jovet, showing a structural plan for the proposed headquarters.

The local leadership resolved that, once the proposal receives approval from the national secretariat, they will mobilise resources among themselves to finance the construction. The facility is designed to serve as a permanent office for local mobilisation, regional coordination, leadership meetings, and monitoring of public service delivery.

The meeting brought together the LCV Chairperson, local Members of Parliament, Mayors, councillors, and mobilisers to discuss organisational priorities. Conversations centred on improving coordination among mobilisers, fighting corruption, and monitoring government programmes.

Rt. Hon. Fadil Twalla received the district reports and memoranda, noting that these consultations help ensure local priorities inform the organisation's planning.

During the session, speakers thanked Hon. Basaliza Henry Mutegeki for his work in organising PLU structures across Tooro. The Kyegegwa meeting is the second district consultation in the Sub-region, following an earlier meeting with leaders from Bunyangabu District.
