Four foreign expatriates attached to Hema Beverages Limited have perished in a motor accident on Yusuf Lule road in Kampala.
Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire says the accident involving vehicle Reg.No.UBA 111E occurred on Sunday at around 12:50 pm. All the vehicle occupants died on spot.
“It’s alleged that the driver lost control and the vehicle swerved off the road down to Golf Course, killing all its occupants after knocking a tree,” Owoyesigyire said. He identified the victims as Dileep Kalakada, 22, an Indian national and the driver, Xu Xiang Shen, 29, Wei Ya Wei, 28 and Su Wei, 35, all Chinese nationals.
“Bodies have been taken to Mulago for postmortem and will later be handed over to the respective embassies to carry on with burial arrangements,” Owoyesigyire said, adding that the wreckage has been towed to Wandegeya Police station as more investigations into the matter are being carried out.
