The Deputy Inspector General of Police Maj. Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi has challenged officers on detection and timely response to incidents.
Maj Gen Sabiiti was on Thursday holding a Baraza with the Field Force Unit and Crime Intelligence officers from Kawempe North Division at Kikandwa. The Deputy IGP noted that proactiveness on duty would enable officers guard against or deal with situations before they go out of hand.
The community especially around Kampala City have often complained of delayed police response despite being notified of criminal incidents in time.
Gen Sabiiti emphasized need for discipline among officers. The DIGP also toured the ongoing construction of the ICT Innovation and Research Centre.
