More than 90 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) including children in Buikwe district have received mobility facilities courtesy of Father's Heart Mobility Ministry - a Non-Governmental Organization based in Ggaba, Kampala.
The facilities, most of them wheel chairs worth over 50 million shillings were handed to the beneficiaries on Wednesday morning at Buikwe district headquarters. Gabriel Katto Maguru, the National Chairman NRM PWDs League officiated at the event. He commended Father’s Heart Mobility Ministry for the support extended to the People with Disabilities. Katto urged the beneficiaries to take good care of the facilities, pledging to lobby for more support from the various development partners and well-wishers.
Joseline Kyakuhaire, the district councilor for PWDs hailed the organization for the support, noting that People with Disabilities are grossly faced with mobility challenges. Francis Mugwanya, the Executive Director Father’s Heart Mobility Ministry says the donation was prompted by the dire need of such facilities by most PWDs in the district. Mugwanya said as a Ministry they believe the facilities will go a long way in helping PWDs easily access services than ever before.
