One student of Hoima School of Nursing and Midwifery has died while several others have been injured in a bus accident.
The accident occurred at midnight on Thursday when the students were being returned to school from Greater Kibaale districts where they were for practical. Albertine Region Police Spokesperson Julius Hakiza confirmed the incident but could not readily give details.
However, eyewitnesses say the over-speeding bus Reg.No.UAS887W reportedly hit the humps and veered off the road to overturn at around Kasimbi area in Kibaale district. The deceased identified as Josephine Kirabo died on the spot after she fell off the vehicle from the co-driver seat.
Those injured have been rushed to Hoima Hospital and Kibaale Health Centre IV.
