The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has contributed Shs55 Million to support St Mary’s College Kisubi in its construction projects.

General Kainerugaba who is also an Old Boy of the school sent his cash contribution on Saturday through Maj Chris Magezi who is the spokesperson for his office.

“As his usual association with this school and its programs, he (Gen Kainerugaba) has sent me here with 55Million Shillings, and I am happy to deliver the message on his behalf,” Major Magezi said while handing the cash envelop to the Deputy Headmaster in charge of Administration, Justus Katatumba and Mr Charles Odaga, the President St Mary’s Kisubi Old Boys Association (SMAKOBA).

This was during a parent’s meeting held at the school on Saturday.

Major Magezi revealed that Gen Kainerugaba had been contacted by the SMAKOBA President Charles Odaga.“I think they had their discussions, but the gist I got from his brief is that there are still some construction projects which are ongoing,” he said.

SMAKOBA President Charles Odaga hailed Gen Kaineirugaba for loving his school and being supportive always.

The General had earlier in April contributed Sh50 Million to help his former school procure computers and furniture to equip the newly built ‘A’ Level block. The school needed a total Sh700Million to equip the new block. On his part, Deputy Headmaster Justus Katatumba pledged to ensure that funds given to the school by Gen. Kainerugaba, are put to right use.

Meanwhile Odaga said the Shs55 Million will also go a long way in completing construction of the school gate, a project that Old Students have now embarked on. “We shall have this project completed by December,” he said.
