Uganda Human Rights Commission Chairperson Dr. Med Kaggwa is dead.
Kaggwa, the former Kawempe South legislator is said to have died at Case Hospital on Wednesday morning after collapsing in his car while driving to work.
The incident happened near Mulago Roundabout in Kampala.
In one of his last public appearances, Dr Kaggwa yesterday (Tuesday) addressed the Police Council meeting at Naguru Police Headquarters.
The now-deceased Kaggwa made a presentation to members of the Police Council on the "Status and Observance of Human Rights: A Current Appraisal of the Uganda Police Force."
“The UPDF fraternity conveys its condolences to the family and colleagues of the late Dr. Med Kaggwa. We on many occasions worked closely with his office and salute his contribution towards entrenching constitutionalism and the rule of law in the country. Rest in peace,” UPDF Spokesperson Brig Richard Karemire tweeted.
