Seven Chinese Road Company Workers Perish in Motor Accident

Seven people were confirmed dead and about 10 others critically injured in a road accident in Kyenjojo district on Wednesday evening.

The accident that happened on Hoima-Kyenjojo road, involved a truck belonging to a Chinese construction company.

The truck was transporting the road workers in the evening.

Lydia Tumushabe, the Rwenzori West regional police spokesperson says the truck failed to brake, went off road and overturned.

Six of the occupants died on the spot, while the other died on the way to hospital. Some of the deceased have been identified as Elsie Word Mugisa, Frank Kyaligonza, Edward Musabye, Bashir Baguma, Emmanuel Baguma and Anthony Tugumisirize.
